We’ve awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual scholarships to college-bound high school seniors from Riverside schools.

We’ve funded an endowed scholarship for RCC students since 1999.

Kiwanis Club of Riverside sponsors an outstanding, award-winning Circle K club at UCR and several local high schools to help students learn about leadership, fellowship and philanthropy. The UCR club raised nearly $2400 for philanthropic projects. They average about 150 community service hours per month.

Since 1992, Kiwanis Club of Riverside has supported families at Longfellow elementary school with: Holiday food drives; partners in the “Starting Blocks” programs, for no-cost swim lessons to elementary students from Longfellow and Jefferson schools; tutoring for elementary students on campus; Riverside Art Museum’s “Art to Go” program on campus; playground sports equipment and shoes; a vegetable garden on campus; painting a multicolor map of the USA on the playground; refurbishing used bicycles as incentives to support students’ perfect attendance and improving grades.

Kiwanis Club of Riverside provides financial support and drivers for the Meals on Wheels program helping seniors with nutrition needs and fellowship.

Kiwanis Club of Riverside sponsors a high school basketball tournament in December, with entertainment for the fans and game experience for the student-athletes.
